HFC ADO Den Haag was founded on 1 February 1905.
Since 1 June 1999, the football activities of HFC ADO Den Haag have been incorporated into the public limited company nv ADO Den Haag. This company is split up into two sectors: Professional Football and the academy.
The company’s board ensures that HFC ADO Den Haag and nv ADO Den Haag meet the obligations they have towards one another, as established in the agreement signed by both parties on 22 May 1999, and periodically holds consultations with the directors on the matter. The ADO Den Haag board also acts as a representative during home and away matches, and in any football-related activities. The board members are appointed by the council of members.
The company ensures at all times that ADO Den Haag, as a professional football organisation, serves the inhabitants of the Haaglanden region. Moreover, the company holds a Special Share, which means it cannot take any decisions on changing the following without prior permission from the board:
- the name of the club, i.e. HFC ADO Den Haag
- the statutory purpose description
- the logo, the club colours (yellow/green) and/or the home kit
- the existing stadium location cannot be changed to a stadium location outside the city of Den Haag or the suburbs
- the structure of the youth and amateur training academy aimed at professional football
- the daily management of nv ADO Den Haag, which is entrusted to the directors, led by a Director-General.
The supervisory board is in charge of strategic policy-making on behalf of the organisation. A professional team of employees is responsible for implementing these policies. The supervisory board monitors the directors’ policy-making and the daily operations at nv ADO Den Haag and its affiliated companies.
The Director-General and the members of the supervisory board are appointed in the general meeting of shareholders of NV ADO Den Haag.
